A Novel Approach to Disability Issues...

Inclusive Solutions is a co-operative social firm that offers customised disability equality training, advocacy, advice, support, consultancy and volunteering opportunities...

Equality training and consultancy that:

  • provides authentic broad specrum expertise,
  • is informed by local knowledge;

  • includes a diversity of experience: in impairment, age, ethnicity, gender and work histories.
      inabilty to see my disability!

     With a changing diversity agenda and new and existing duties under the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) being brought to the forefront for both public and private sector employers and service providers, Inclusive Solutions envisages new opportunities for effecting change, increasing accessibility and inclusivity.

    Inclusive Solutions registered as a Community Interest Company on 22nd January 2008.   It is owned and managed by disabled people primarily for the benefit of the disabled community in the London Borough’s of Haringey, Enfield, Barnet and Waltham Forest

    Inclusive Solutions will also undertake work that will benefit other disadvantaged sectors of the community such as those who are unemployed, lone parents and black and ethnic minorities.

    We can therefore also help organisations meet a wider equality and diversity agenda.

    1 in 5

    of the population in Britain is disabled.

     There are around 10 million disabled people in the UK – greater than the combined population of Scotland and Wales.

     Under the DDA, many legal rights and obligations affecting disabled people’s access to services and employment are already in force.  Yet the impact of the DDA on the daily lives of disabled people is slow as many disabled people are still not aware of their rights or empowered.

    Employers and service providers are often unsure how to implement “best practice” to make it easier for disabled people to use their services or gain employment.

    Thus disabled people can find themselves being ignored as customers; not getting short-listed as job applicants; or as a work colleague people can be reluctant to involve you.  This is often due to the fact that many people just do not know how to interact with disabled people.  They often worry about upsetting disabled people and sometimes therefore do nothing at all rather risk doing the wrong thing.

    Inclusive Solutions can provide comprehensive training, information, advice and guidance that will help to facilitate changes in attitudes.

    We endeavour to assist people and organisations to become disability confident - ensuring that services are accessible; meet the needs and expectations of customers, and that organisations attract, recruit and retain disabled staff.

    This makes for a more diverse workforce with a wide variety of approaches and perspectives that enhances performance and creates value for customers.
