Building a career: Barry Connelly from Johnson Matthey with apprentices Daniel Martin and Jayson Villaflor
The North London Chamber Of Commerce kicked off the first Apprenticeship Forum For Business, hosted by Johnson Matthey, at its Brimsdown site in Jeffreys Road.
Barry Connelly, corporate social responsibility manager at the precious metals refinery firm, said: “Johnson Matthey is committed to a sustainable apprenticeship programme, offering real jobs with further education and training on site.”
Johnson Matthey also used the event to launch the 100 Club, an initiative working with the Chamber Of Commerce and other local businesses to create 100 new apprenticeships in 100 days.
Huw Jones, chief executive of North London Chamber Of Commerce, said: “We are delighted to support this initiative. Apprenticeships are a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to develop a skilled workforce and create sustainable local employment opportunities.”
