This course is recommended for those considering taking on a mentoring role for the first time or developing their existing skills, as well as those involved in establishing or developing an existing scheme.
The course is a thought-provoking, skills-based programme exploring the essential skills mentors need. Special attention is paid to the skills of non-directive mentoring, where mentors enable mentees to think more for themselves and learn to solve their own problems.
Course benefits:
By the end of the Mentoring course you will be able to:
Could you be a mentor?
Can you help inspire mental health service users in their journey to recovery or to becoming entrepreneurs or self employed through your own experiences in business, general management or managing enterprise?
Do you have specific skills and knowledge that would help participants be successful in their life aspirations and careers?
We are putting together a database of prospective mentors, willing to donate as much or as little time as you are able, to help those on our scheme realise their aspirations.
We always welcome and thank new mentors.
